Blood Cured Ogre Toes

Prep: 15 min

Ingredients:
1-24 oz jar cocktail dill pickles
3 packets unsweetened cherry Kool-Aid
1 c sugar

Directions:
  1. Cut each pickle in half.
  2. Drain the pickle juice into a container.
  3. Add the packets of Kool-Aid.
  4. Add sugar.
  5. Mix until the sugar is dissolved.
  6. Pour the juice back over the pickles so they are completely covered, you'll have some juice left over.
  7. Stick them in the fridge for a minimum of 24 hours to a maximum of 2 weeks, the longer they sit the deeper the color will become.

Stuffed Roaches

Ingredients:
  1. Dates
  2. Nuts
  3. Cream Cheese
Directions:
  1. Use a knife to cut down into the dates.
  2. Use fingers to stuff dates with cream cheese and your choice of nuts.
  3. Put a sign & a rubber roach and you've got people cringing.

Fresh Bowl of Eyes

Ingredients:
  1. 1 can Lychee fruit
  2. Strawberry jelly
  3. fresh blueberries
Directions:
  1. Open the can of Lychee fruit, drain well.
  2. Fill with strawberry jelly.
  3. Top with a blueberry.

Dirt Cake

Preheat: 350F Prep: Bake: 35-40 min

Chocolate Cake Ingredients:
  1. 1 3/4 c flour
  2. 1/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 2 tsp baking powder
  4. 3/4 tsp baking soda
  5. 1/2 tsp salt
  6. 3/4 c unsalted butter, softened
  7. 1 1/4 c granulated sugar
  8. 2 large eggs
  9. 2 tsp vanilla extract
  10. 3/4 c semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  11. 1 3/4 c milk
Chocolate Whipper Cream Frosting Ingredients:
  1. 1 c heavy whipping cream
  2. 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  3. 1 1/2 Tbs cocoa powder
  4. 2 1/2 Tbs granulated white sugar
  5. 1 1/3 cups ground Oreo cookies
Gummy-worms

Frosting Directions:
  1. In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients.
  2. Cover & chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour so the cocoa powder has time to dissolve.
  3. When chilled, beat the mixture until stiff peaks form.
Cake Directions:
  1. Butter & flour 2-9" round cake pans, or grease using your preferred method.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder & soda.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, using a mixer on medium speed, beat together butter & sugar until creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Beat in eggs & vanilla until combined.
  5. Beat in melted chocolate until combined.
  6. Reduce mixer speed to low & beat in flour mixture, alternating with milk, until batter is well combined & smooth, ab 2-3 min.
  7. Divide batter evenly into prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake until well risen cake pulls away from edges & a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  9. Cool for 12 min before running a knife around outside edges & inverting onto wire racks to cool completely.
Assemblage Directions:
  1. Spread a layer of frosting over one side of cake and top with 1/3 cup Oreo cookie crumbs.
  2. Top with second cake layer.
  3. Spread remaining frosting over cake.
  4. Pack remaining cookie crumbs into sides & top of cake.
  5. Decorate with gummy-worms.

Spider Dip Bowl

Preheat: 350ºF Prep: Bake: 25-30 min

Ingredients:
  1. 2 loafs Rhodes™ Bread Dough, thawed
  2. 1 egg, beaten
  3. 2 raisins
Directions:
  1. Form one loaf into a round ball.
  2. Place on a large sprayed cookie sheet.
  3. With other loaf, cut off end and form a small round ball (about one eight of loaf) and place above body.
  4. Horizontally, slice remaining dough into 8 strips and roll into ropes for legs.
  5. Place under head and upper body.
  6. Place raisins on head for eyes.
  7. Brush with beaten egg and cover with sprayed plastic wrap.
  8. Allow to rise 30 minutes.
  9. Remove wrap and bake.
  10. Allow to cool on rack.
  11. Slice off top of body and hollow out.
  12. Line with lettuce and spoon in your preferred dip.

Werewolf Claws

Preheat: 350F Prep: 15 min Bake: 10 min Makes: 10 servings

Ingredients:
  1. Nonstick vegetable spray
  2. 10 chicken cutlets
  3. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  4. 2 eggs, beaten
  5. 2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
  6. 1 12-oz. can large pitted black olives, drained
  7. Ketchup
  8. 1 head of lettuce, shredded
Directions:
  1. Spray a cookie sheet with the nonstick spray.
  2. Slice the cutlets into strips about the width of one bony finger, the more crooked the better.
  3. Place the flour, beaten eggs & bread crumbs into three separate bowls.
  4. Dust the chicken strips with flour, dip them into the eggs, & then roll them in the bread crumbs.
  5. Place the strips on the cookie sheet & broil about 5 minutes on each side until brown.
  6. To make the fingernails, cut the olives in half lengthwise.
  7. Trim the halves into pointy nail shapes, & place one on the end of each chicken strip.
  8. Press them into the chicken and, if you need help in making them stick, use some ketchup as glue.
  9. Serve the claws on a head (of shredded lettuce, of course).

Frozen Frog Eggs

Prep:15 min Freeze: ab 4 hrs Makes: 8

Ingredients:
  1. 2 Kiwi fruit
  2. 1 c limeade (we used a natural brand without artificial color)
  3. 1 tablespoon of honey
  4. 8 3-oz paper or plastic cups
  5. Popsicle sticks
Directions:
  1. Peel both kiwi fruits
  2. Cut one kiwi into chunks.
  3. Blend the fruit chunks with limeade & honey until the mixture is somewhat smooth.
  4. Slice the second kiwi into eight thin pieces & press them into the bottoms of each cup.
  5. Pour the blended mixture into the cups, filling them each about halfway full.
  6. Place the cups in a glass baking dish & cover them with foil.
  7. Insert a Popsicle stick through the foil, into each cup (the foil will hold the sticks in place).
  8. Freeze the pops until solid.
  9. To serve, loosen by briefly dipping the bottoms of the cups in warm water.

Blood Drenched Brains & Eyeballs


Preheat 375F Bake: 20-30 min

Eyeball Ingredients:
  1. 2 lbs ground chicken breast
  2. 1 egg
  3. 1/2 c bread crumbs
  4. 1/2 c milk
  5. 3/4 c freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  6. 1 tsp ground fennel seeds
  7. oregano, basil & thyme to taste
  8. a generous amount of garlic & onion powder
  9. salt and pepper to taste
  10. 1 can pre-pitted black olives
Blood Ingredients: (can substitute store bought spaghetti sauce)
  1. 1 larger can of tomato paste (it was a little more than a cup)
  2. 1/4 c freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  3. 1 tsp ground fennel seeds
  4. oregano, basil & thyme to taste
  5. a generous amount of garlic & onion powder
  6. water to thin—about 1 1/2 cups
Brains Ingredients:
  1. Spaghetti Noodles
Directions:
  1. Combine all chicken ingredients except olives & set aside.
  2. Combine all sauce ingredients in a pot and heat over medium low.
  3. Grease a large rimmed cookie sheet with oil.
  4. Form eyeball sized balls & shove an olive into the center of each one.
  5. Arrange eyeballs on baking sheet 1 in away from one another.
  6. Bake until cooked through.
  7. Boil spaghetti noodles as package directs (without using oil). Drain.
  8. Let noodles cool than squeeze handfuls together to form "brains".
  9. Place brains on plates topped with eyeballs over blood sauce.

Shrunken Head Cider

Preheat: 250F Bake: Aprox. 90 min

Ingredients:
  1. 2 cups lemon juice
  2. 2 tablespoons coarse salt
  3. 8 large Granny Smith apples
  4. 32 whole cloves
  5. 2 gallons apple cider
  6. 2 (12 oz) cans frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
  7. 2 cups spiced rum
Directions:
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together lemon juice & salt; set aside.
  3. Peel apples & cut each in half through the stem; remove seeds and core.
  4. Using a sharp paring knife, carve a face, as desired, on the rounded side of each apple half.
  5. Place apples in lemon mixture for one min; transfer to paper towels to drain.
  6. Place apples, face-side up on prepared baking sheet & transfer to oven.
  7. Let bake until apples are dry & begin to brown around the edges
  8. Remove apples from baking sheets & press cloves into the "eye" sockets.
  9. Combine cider, lemonade, & rum in a large punchbowl; float shrunken heads on top.

Eyeball Caprese

Ingredients:
  1. Castelvetrano (Green) Olives
  2. Black Olives
  3. Fresh Mozzarella
  4. Tomatoes
  5. Large Spinach or Fresh Basil Leaves
  6. Olive Oil
  7. Salt & Pepper, to taste
Directions:
  1. Cut the ends off your green olives & use a straw to punch the pupil holes into the center of the ends.
  2. Slice black olives in half & punch the pupils out of the centers. Place "pupils" into the green olive pupil holes.
  3. Arrange Leaves on a serving platter.
  4. Slice Tomatoes & place on top of the leaves.
  5. Arrange two rounds of mozzarella on top of each tomato slice.
  6. Top tomatoes with olives.
  7. Drizzle with olive oil, salt & pepper.
  8. Serve.

Mummy Dogs


Preheat: 375 F Bake: 15 min Yields:10

Ingredients
  1. 1 pkg turkey dogs
  2. 5 slices cheese, sliced in half
  3. ketchup
  4. 20 black mustard seeds
  5. 1 batch Crescent Roll Dough, can use store bought refrigerated crescent dough.

Directions
  1. Lay out crescent triangles and lay one triangle of cheese, facing the same direction, on each.
  2. Slice halfway through (the long direction) each hot dog and squeeze a line of ketchup into crack.
  3. Lay hot dog on the wide side of the crescent dough.
  4. Wrap the hot dog as if it were a mummy leaving just the "face" exposed.
  5. Use a toothpick to poke holes where the eyes should be and push mustard seeds into the holes.
  6. Place mummy dogs on an ungreased baking sheet and bake around 15 minutes, until golden.
  7. Serve.

Apple Bites

Ingredients:
  1. 4-5 apples
  2. slivered almonds
Directions:
  1. Quarter and core each apple.
  2. Baste with lemon or orange juice to keep from browning.
  3. Cut a shallow wedge from the skin side of each quarter.
  4. Press slivered almonds in place for teeth.

Mellon Brain

Prep: 30 min

Ingredients:
  1. 1 small seedless watermelon
Directions:
  1. Use a vegetable peeler to remove the entire green rind, exposing the inner white rind.
  2. Slice off the bottom of the melon to create a flat base that will keep it from rolling. With a toothpick, outline squiggly furrows that resemble the folded surface of a brain.
  3. Finally, carve narrow channels along the tracings with a sharp paring knife (a parent's job) to expose the pink fruit beneath the rind.

Pizza Mummies

Preheat: 350ºF Prep:15 min Bake: 10 min

Ingredients:
  1. English muffins
  2. Pizza sauce
  3. Black olives
  4. Red or green pepper
  5. Mozzarella string cheese
Directions:
  1. Separate English Muffin slices and toast.
  2. For each mummy, spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce onto half of an English muffin.
  3. Set olive slices in place for eyes and add bits of red or green pepper for pupils.
  4. Lay strips string cheese across the muffin for the mummy's wrappings.
  5. Bake until the cheese is melted and the muffin is toasty.

Bones

Prep: 15 min Bake: 12 min

Ingredients:
  1. 11 oz tube refrigerated bread-stick dough
  2. Oil
  3. Coarse Ground Salt or Grated Parmesan Cheese
Directions:
  1. Unroll a tube of refrigerated breadstick dough and separate the rectangular pieces.
  2. Working with one piece at a time, stretch the dough to lengthen it a bit and then use kitchen scissors or a knife to cut a 11/2-inch slit in the center of each end.
  3. Roll or shape the resulting four flaps of dough into knobs that look like the ends of a bone.
  4. Place the dough bones on an ungreased baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart, and sprinkle on a little coarse salt. Bake the bones until they are light golden brown, about 12 minutes.

Goblin Grins

Ingredients:
  1. 1/2 lb Sugar Snap Pea Pods
  2. 1 Red Pepper
  3. Slivered almonds or large shred shredded mozzarella

Directions:
  1. For each one, use the tip of a paring knife to cut a slit centered in one side of an edible pea pod (a parent's job).
  2. Cut out a tongue shape from the red bell pepper and insert it through the opening in the pea pod with the inside of the pepper facing up.
  3. For the finishing touch, insert a few slivered almonds or shreds of mozzarella for teeth.
